Procedures for Ski Tours:
Detailed information on all the tours is listed below as it becomes available.
Reservations for all tours, except the Squaw Valley tour, will be accepted by tour hosts by mail starting October 19, 2009.
Tour Reservation Forms can be downloaded or will be available at the tour desk at the Registration Sessions. Reservations will be secured on the date the Tour Host receives a completed Tour Reservation Form, a post-dated cheque to deadline for the full payment and a self-addressed stamped business-sized envelope. Remember some tours fill up very quickly.

Sunshine Village — December 15-17, 2009 (Tour is completed for 2009/10)

Transportation: None provided. Tour participants must provide their own transportation to the Sunshine Village base station.

Deduction: Non skier deduction is $132. Skiers who wish to use their Sunshine Cards will be able to purchase tickets at the base on the first day and at the hotel on day 2 and day 3.

Departure/Arrival Details: We will depart from the Valley Ridge Golf Club Parking lot at 8:00 am on Monday, January 11, and leave the ski hill at 8:00 am on Friday arriving at Valley Ridge Golf Club at approximately 5:00 pm.

Deadline: Mail completed Tour Reservation Forms to the Tour Host prior to December 4 along with:

  1. A cheque payable to Seniors Alpine Ski Club dated December 4, 2009.
  2. A business-sized (4.125" x 9.5"), self-addressed, stamped envelope—or an email address—to receive communications from the tour host concerning the tour.
  3. Applicants who wish to drive if the bus minimum of 42 people is reached should submit their fee with two cheques. One for the bus portion of $114 and the second for the balance.

Squaw Valley (California) — January 24–29, 2010 (Tour is completed for 2009/10)

Note: Because there are several areas to ski around Lake Tahoe lift tickets have not been included in the tour cost. A four day lift ticket for the Squaw Valley resort is US $165.

Deduction: There are no deductions on this tour.

Included in Ski Tour: Five nights accommodation, transportation from Calgary via United Airlines to Reno, transfer to and from Reno airport to Squaw Valley via a twenty one passenger mini coach, welcoming reception and a group dinner.

Special Conditions Applicable to this Ski Tour:

  1. The club cancellation policy will not apply to this tour. If you have to cancel for any reason you will forfeit the full cost unless you or the tour host are able to find a replacement.
  2. All units are doubles. Priority will be given to those participants who have made prior arrangements to share the accommodation.
  3. There may be an additional charge for the hotel rooms and bus transport if the value of the Canadian dollar drops below $0.85.

NB — The Vancouver Olympics have had a big impact on reservations at Silver Star. Much of the accommodation has already been reserved.  We have reserved all the units available in the Silver Creek Inn as of June 15, 2009. The Silver Star Resort imposes a 20% penalty for cancellations made 60 to 35 days prior to arrival so any cancellations made in this period will be subject to this penalty on this tour.
